Deep Recon

In 1973, my father R.E. Conway completed 20 years of service aboard U.S. Navy diesel submarines. He knew the ocean the way most people never will — from the inside, in the dark, in the deep.

He passed away in 2006. And somewhere in the years that followed — through layoffs, through starting over, through teaching myself everything from web development to DevOps to electronics — the dream of getting back to the water stayed with me.

Deep Recon is how I get there.

Named for my father — R.E. Conway — and for the work the vessel will do: deep ocean reconnaissance, research, cleanup, and mangrove restoration. Every client engagement moves that mission forward.

The Founder

I didn't learn electronics in a classroom. I learned it from library books in 6th grade so I could help my dad repair alternators at our family's tractor dealership.

That pattern never stopped. I've taught myself web development, Python, DevOps, and hardware systems — not because I had to, but because understanding how things work has always been how I'm wired.

I've worked across industries that most people never connect: heavy equipment, manufacturing, hospitality, entertainment, ophthalmology, research. What I've learned is that the problems are almost always the same — people and businesses struggling to adapt to change.
